Portofino and Golfo del Tigullio
Portofino is really a must, and it is really a paradise. The famous crowded “piazzetta”, its small harbor, its yachts, boutiques, restaurants and clubs.
Its cape offers many and different walks, with beautiful views both towards the west side, after Genova, and the east side, towards the Golfo del Tigullio and Sestri Levante.
Sestri Levante owes its beauty to two well-known bays: the Fairytale Bay, so named by the famous writer Hans Christian Andersen, and the smaller Bay of Silence.
The peninsula which separate them is still called “the isle” by the inhabitants, even if it belongs to the mainland since already nine centuries.
To get very nice pictures, the best is to go in the Capuchin Convent: it leans on the Bay of Silence, and from its terrace one enjoys a suggestive view of the Portobello houses.
For those who love nature, we suggest an excursion to the park of Punta Manara, starting from the old city centre through a typical Liguria “crosa”.
Sestri Levante is also the preferred destination of young people, since it offers many bars, pubs and discos both in its caruggio and seafront.
